Golden: I got an idea but you can’t tell anyone. 🤫🤐
Brandy: 😧😶
The idea that Golden had was to create high-quality candles that smell amazing whether you’re lighting it for the very first time or the last time.
Soon after the text message exchange, Golden began gathering materials that he needed to bring his idea to life. After each small batch of different scents, we would deliver them to our best friends (and test sniffers), Jessica & Joshua, and some coworkers for their feedback. The testing phase lasted until the end of 2021 when we finally announced on social media what we had been up to!
OUR NAME: Golden is his real name! Golden has always called Brandy “Buttercup” instead of her government name, so we became Golden Buttercup! Huge bonus that a golden buttercup is an actual flower (or weed if you’re pessimistic)!
